Im 21. Jahrhundert haben Automobile die herkömmliche Gaszugtechnik durch ein elektronisches Steuergerät (ECM) ersetzt, das die Pedalbewegung in elektronische Signale umwandelt, um die Kraft auf die Räder zu übertragen. Das elektronische Gaspedalsystem (ETC) – auch bekannt als Drive-by-Wire – hat den Nachteil einer verzögerten Gasannahme und einer gedämpften Beschleunigung, was in bestimmten Situationen wie Berganfahrten, schnellen Gangwechseln, Überholvorgängen usw. Probleme verursachen kann. Der Sprint Booster zielt darauf ab, diese Verzögerung der Gasannahme bei Fahrzeugen mit ETC zu beheben und dem Fahrer eine spontane und direkte Beschleunigung zu ermöglichen.
