Das britische EFI-Werk von EBC Brakes in Bristol hat mithilfe einer neuen, umweltfreundlichen Technologie einen Bremsbelag entwickelt, der außergewöhnlich hohe Reibwerte aufweist und sich dennoch gut für den Straßenverkehr eignet. Die Bremswirkung ist bereits beim ersten Bremsvorgang im kalten Zustand stark. Das im Rennsport bewährte Material garantiert zudem effektives Bremsen bis zu Temperaturen von über 760 °C (1400 °F), weit über den Maximalwerten, die bei starkem Bremsen, Anhängerbetrieb oder Bergabfahrten auftreten. Wintertests in Ohio mit fünf gängigen leichten Nutzfahrzeugen haben die Bremsleistung bei Kälte unter extremen Nässe- und Kältebedingungen unter Beweis gestellt, bei denen viele Hochleistungsbremsen versagen würden. Diese Bremsbeläge sind daher extrem vielseitig einsetzbar. Das neue, auf Kohlenstoffgranulat basierende Extra Duty-Material ist zudem rotorschonend, staubarm und geräuscharm. Jedes Set wird mit den revolutionären NUCAP-Kolbeneinsätzen geliefert – eine weitere Innovation von EBC.
